A Year of Building

One Bison started as a simple directory. A yellow pages, so to speak. The goal was to help you find businesses that respect your values without digging through search results or guessing who to trust.

A year later, we've grown. We now have 652 businesses on the platform showcasing products, deals, and services you can actually trust. Every single one was reviewed by our team before going live (and re-reviewed monthly).

Why Services Matter

Most people think of products when they shop their values. A t-shirt or a bag of coffee you can flip over to check the label.

But some of your most important spending decisions aren't products. They're services. A financial advisor, a contractor, or a mechanic. These are the people you trust with your money and your home, yet you can't check a "Made in USA" label on a service.

Wheeler Wealth is a veteran-owned, family-run wealth management firm out of Ponte Vedra, Florida. They focus on helping families plan for retirement and assisting business owners with 401(k) plans.

Their site describes their philosophy as "a dynamic modern approach rooted in traditional values."

That is the kind of partner we want on One Bison. We aren't just here for products. We are here for the services where trust actually matters.

Market News that Matters

Detroit Used to Be the Richest City in America

Most people have forgotten that.

This was the city that built the cars, the jobs, and the middle class. For decades, it was the wealthiest place in the country. Today, the richest counties in America are the ones clustered around politicians and tech money.

That shift didn't happen by accident. It happened because the manufacturing base left.

But there are signs it is coming back. President Trump visited Ford's F-150 plant in Dearborn this month to highlight a resurgence in American auto manufacturing. Ford, GM, Honda, and Toyota are investing billions in American facilities again. Read more

It’s not a complete turnaround, but it is a start.

To support this, we are building out the Automotive category on One Bison. Dealerships, detailers, repair shops. If they share our values, we want them listed.

What would actually make this category useful to you? Reply and tell me.

The Invisible Weight on Small Business

The SBA released a report this month with a staggering finding: federal agencies dumped between $200 billion and $600 billion in regulatory costs on small businesses over the past four years.

Agencies often declared new rules wouldn't hurt small businesses without actually checking.

This kind of story rarely makes headlines because it isn't dramatic. It is just a slow, steady pressure that makes it harder for a family shop to compete against big corporations with compliance departments.

You can't fix bureaucracy overnight. But you can decide where your money goes. Every dollar is a vote, and when enough of us make the same choice, it adds up.

What's Coming in 2026

Right now, you find a business on One Bison and that's it. We know that isn't enough.

We are fixing that. Soon, you will be able to "Save" your favorite companies to get updates on new products or deals. For business owners, basic listings will remain free, but we will introduce paid options for those who want more visibility and insights.

Still small. Still learning. Still improving every week.

One Ask

If One Bison has helped you find a business you like, please forward this to someone who would appreciate it. That is the best way to help us grow.

Thank you for being here.
