One Bison Monthly — May 2026

The cost of running a business is expensive and doesn't pause for the wins. We'd always rather grow faster, but that's life, and we love every moment of building One Bison.

Thanks to everyone who joined, claimed, or referred this month. Short issue: one story worth reading, an update on where we are, a free healthcare review for you, and a few new businesses.

The Veteran Accelerator Other Cities Should Be Studying

San Antonio is about to become the first city in the country to give veterans, their spouses, and adult children a direct pathway to small business ownership. The program connects them with mentors, funding resources, and an annual pitch competition.

Financial support helps, but it doesn't always give someone their dignity. That comes from being able to stand on your own two feet, and this program is designed around the things that actually get you there.

San Antonio is essentially my hometown, and I'm proud to see it lead on this. If the program works the way it's designed to, we'd love to see its first cohort in the One Bison directory.

Where We're At

One Bison now has more than 800 verified businesses on the platform with 116 claimed profiles and growing. Every business is still manually reviewed by our team before it goes live, and that's not going away.

This month, Patriot Mobile signed on as our newest founding partner alongside Good Ranchers and Birch Gold Group. Patriot Mobile is a conservative, Christian-owned mobile service provider that supports patriotic causes by donating a portion of its profits to veterans, first responders, and other conservative organizations. We're grateful for their belief in what we're building early.

More partnerships are in active conversation. When established businesses commit to One Bison early, it gives others in their categories a reason to pay attention and join. That means more products, more deals, and a better directory for you.

READER BENEFIT
Priority Access to a Free Healthcare Review

We've teamed up with America First Healthcare. They're introducing One Bison to their audience and we're featuring them here. As part of that, One Bison readers get priority handling on the Free Healthcare Review, so you don't sit in the general queue. When you book, type "onebison" in the appointment slot.
